A Short Hike Achievement Guide & Road Map (2024)

There are 20 Golden Feathers and 2 Silver Feathers to find throughout the game. These can be found anywhere in the world and even purchased from certain characters.

Before you can fish you need to get a fishing rod by speaking to the fisherman on Meteor Lake (That is the lake in the center of the island). With it unlocked, simply equip the rod and pressto cast it, wait for a bite and tapto reel it in.

With your rod, you can go speak to the captain on the ship to the east of the main island. He will offer to trade your caught fish for coins and bait. After bringing him 5 different types of fish, he will also give you the fishing journal, which can be used to track what you have caught and still need to catch.

There are 22 different fish in the game, but you only need to catch and trade the 15 mentioned in the fishing journal. You can use this map with your compasss to find specific fish locations.

There are three parkour races you'll need to win to complete this achievement. Avery, the host and your competition, will appear randomly in one of the three race locations. Beating her in all three races is simple as she always sticks to the paths, meaning you can use shortcuts.

After meeting Avery, she gives you a walkie talkie that you can use to locate her and challenge her to rematches if you lose a race.

On the small islands in the north of the map is a boat rental shack. You'll need 100 coins to rent the boat. Then, speak to the girl on the island, so she will join you on the boat. Speak to her again and accept her challenge. After completing the challenge the first time, you'll need to ride the boat to the captain to repair it. Once the boat is repaired, talk to the girl again to accept her modified challenge. You can repeat this as many times as you need to in order to beat the 45 second time limit.

This is a time-specific achievement, requiring you to be playing at 5PM real-time. At that time, speak with the goat ranger at the visitor center to get a piece of toast. Select it from your inventory to eat it and pop this achievement!

Beachstickball is a minigame you can play in the northwest corner of the island, located on the small beach near the graveyard. The game is simple requiring you to hit the beach ball with a stick, keeping it up in the air. You and the computer controlled character are working together, even though they sometimes hit the ball too hard or too far away from you. You'll need to collectively hit the ball 30 times or more to unlock the hat and this achievement!

There are many campfires found throughout the world; however, you will need to find a bucket first. Luckily, these aren't to hard to come by and can be found along your way up the mountain. You'll only need one bucket as you can reuse it. With the bucket equipped, step into the water to fill it, then pour it out over a campfire.

You can even grind this out with the same campfire. After putting it out walk far enough away from the area and the campfire will be lit again.

As you climb to the top of Hawk Peak, follwoing the path you should find a fox before a broken bridge. Speak with them to find out that they need 6 golden feathers to reach the top. Speak with them again and agree to let them borrow your feathers. It is recommended to have at least 10 feathers before doing this, otherwise, you won't be able to make it to the top. Now, climb the rest of the way up and talk to the fox at the peak to take a photo.
